A dive watch in Cartier clothes is of great effect, with the result that the Calibre Diver effortlessly joins the closed circle of timepieces whose overall harmony wins us over at first glance. The exercise is not as simple as it might seem, hence why Cartier’s teams were several years bringing the project to fruition. One whose aesthetic is recognisably Cartier. The brand, whose Manufacture is located in La Chaux-de-Fonds, has also been at pains to design a watch that looks like a Cartier watch. Satisfying the standards of quality, durability and resistance which this type of instrument imposes is one thing. Hands up all those who’ve taken a dip with their Rolex Submariner, Omega Seamaster, Blancpain Fifty Fathoms or Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Compressor Diving on their wrist. The question being, who would take this kind of a watch diving… but that’s another story. Yes, the Calibre Diver has passed its diving exam with flying colours, a fact duly engraved on the case back (screw-down, as one would expect).
